Spinach Dal (Dal Palak)


Ingredients:-

  • Spinach finely chopped 200 gms
  • Toor Dal 1/2 cup
  • 1 medium-size tomato
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida a pinch
  • Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic chopped 9-10 cloves
  • Green chillies seeded and chopped 2
  • Red Chillies 2
  • Onion chopped 1 medium
  • Salt to taste
Method
  • Cook Toor dal with salt and turmeric powder till soft. 
  • Heat oil (or ghee) in a pan. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, garlic, red chilly, green chillies and sauté for one minute. 
  • Add onion and continue to sauté till onion gets lightly browned.
  • Add tomatoes and a pinch of salt and cook tomatoes until it becomes soft.
  • Add spinach and sauté for 2 minutes. 
  • Add dal and mix well.
  • Add water and salt as per the taste and requirement.
Serve Dal Palak with rice or chapati and try the recipe and share the feedback 😋

Tips: - You can use moong dal, chana dal instead of Toor dal.
